Introduction-

Your brain is not meant to hold all of the stuff you have to do, and keeping it all up in there will only serve to disappoint and mess you in both the short and long term. Our brain is mainly develop to think and not for storage purpose. When it comes to getting things done, the first thing you have to do is get it all out of your head and capture it somewhere else. A Brain Dump is a complete transfer of accessible knowledge about a particular subject from your brain to some other storage medium. Such as paper or your computers hard drive. You can write down all the ideas, thoughts, to-do, reminders, task on a simple piece of paper. It mainly involves the attempt to store all the knowledge from your brain to a computer or a piece of paper.


How to do Brain Dump-

To do Brain Dump successfully you have to organize all those ideas, thoughts, to-do, reminder, task so that you don't need to spend time thinking about them.

You need to have the following headings for your list (Start list with MUST and finish up with the PERHAPS)

1. MUST: Things you have committed to doing, that need to be done urgently.

2. WANTS: Things you would like to do but haven’t committed to them yet. You want to do them sometime in future.

3. PERHAPS: Things you may want to do at some point but are far down on the priority list


You may find that some of those don't need to be entered into your journal at all. These could be things you need to let go off for your own happiness. You have to honestly evaluate each list. You can move stuff from one list to another during this exercise as well, but ultimately, you want to wind up the least amount of things on your Must list so that you can get to the Want list stuff that much faster.

It is simple technique to help you declutter your mind and thoughts. This will free up your brain space, which you can use for other purpose. It also helps to gain focus. It helps to get productive, organize your time and efforts for better. By doing this you free your mental energy to put towards other things. By this exercise you can reduce extra stress from your brain and stay calm and stress free.

It is best to do a quick brain dump before bed each night. All can write all the things of whole day and empty your brain completely and sleep calmly without any stress. You can also make a different section in you daily journal for Brain Dump and empty their all the thoughts. Knowing that you have to get it out of your head is one thing. Where you put it is an entirely different matter.
